Why Do We Need a Secretariat?

Secretariat is the word for the governing body of our organization. Long Island Tres Dias (LITD) Secretariat was created by our founding pescadores through our By-Laws. They tried to provide a balanced representation of our community in both experience and ability. They also tried to spread the workload around as much as possible while still maintaining simplicity of organization. We have made changes over the years as LITD has grown, but we have always tried to keep to the original intent.

The Secretariat consists of:

President
1st and 2nd Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
Financial Secretary (added in 1999)
International Representative
Committees: PreWeekend, Weekend, PostWeekend, Rector/Rectrix

There are numerous subcommittees:
Advisory Board of Clergy
Newsletter
Palanca Coordinator
Prayer Chain
Reunion Group Coordinator
WebSite Manager

In our next FYI, we'll try to answer the question: What do all these people do, anyway?
